We Want To Make A Difference, As Do Our Residents
A Community of Compassion
Our mission at Ecumenical Retirement Community is to provide an affordable retirement community of diversity and autonomy, where empowered residents of different religions, cultures and races live together to make a difference inside and outside of the community.
It’s what sets us a part from other senior living communities. We recognize and appreciate that our residents value contributing to the very neighborhoods that fostered their livelihoods. And where they may not be able to give back financially, they donate their time and talents to create a similar impact.
A Vision Of Community
The Ecumenical Retirement Community is a non-profit senior living community designed to provide the middle class with an affordable alternative in retirement living with services ranging from independent living to memory support, and everything in between. Our community is managed by The George M. Leader Family Corporation (a company formed by late Governor George Leader and his family) with over 30 years of experience serving the retirement needs of seniors in Pennsylvania and western Maryland.
The vision behind Ecumenical is to involve the individual resident with the planning and participation in a program of wellness. Each resident, through daily activities, can reach and maintain an individual level of wellness in any level of care: independent living, personal care, early- to late-stage memory support and restorative care.
Our community is truly a "community" in the best sense of the word: each person offers unique talents and abilities to the successful day-to-day operation. It is a community where the word "love" takes on a real meaning.
